Whispers of the Forgotten: An Elegy of Silent Farewells

Poetry Image

Beneath the weeping willow’s shade,
Where shadows of the lost parade,
We whisper silent farewells dear,
To those who no longer linger near.

The stars above, they softly weep,
For souls that in the night do sleep,
And in the quiet of the morn,
We mourn the day that never dawns.

The echoes of their laughter fade,
Like distant dreams in twilight’s shade,
Yet in our hearts, they still remain,
A tender ache, a sweet refrain.

Oh, how we long to hold them tight,
In memories that burn so bright,
Yet time, relentless in its flight,
Leaves us in an endless night.
