Whispers of an Empty Bowl: Cries in the Silence, Hunger’s Lament, and the Shadows of Despair

Poetry Image

In the silence of the night, a cry is heard,
A whisper of hunger, a plea deferred.
Voices echo in the hollow realms,
Of empty bowls and hungry dreams.

Children with eyes that tell tales untold,
Faces that mirror the pain they hold.
Their laughter lost in the struggle’s embrace,
As hunger etches lines on their young face.

Streets paved with sorrow, hearts weighed with grief,
Dreams that shatter like autumn leaves.
Poverty’s chain, an unyielding bind,
Hope seems a treasure, too hard to find.

Yet in the darkness, a spark remains,
A glimmer of light through the window panes.
For even in despair, a seed is sown,
A promise of dawn, where love is grown.
