Whispers of a Deceptive Heart

Poetry Image

Under moonlit skies, promises were made,
Yet shadows danced where truth should lay,
A love so sweet, but a facade displayed,
In the night’s embrace, hearts led astray.

Eyes that glistened with a false delight,
Lips that whispered dreams, hollow and light,
The warmth of touch, a fleeting might,
Leaving scars in the morning light.

Words like honey, but laced with lies,
A love built on mere disguise,
Beneath the surface, sorrow lies,
A heart wounded, no longer flies.

Now I stand, in truth’s embrace,
Shedding the remnants of a false trace,
Seeking solace in a genuine place,
Healing the scars of a love misplaced.
