Whispers in Shadows: The Veil of False Companions

Poetry Image

In the light, they stand so near,
With smiles that seem so true,
Yet shadows whisper secrets dear,
Of friendships we outgrew.

Their words like honeyed lies unfold,
In whispers soft and sweet,
Yet coldness hides in tales they told,
A mask of deceit complete.

We danced on paths of golden rays,
Where trust was meant to bloom,
But soon the sun revealed the haze,
Of looming hidden gloom.

Now wiser eyes can see the play,
Behind the crafted guise,
The friends who fade like night to day,
As truth unveils their lies.
