Whispers Behind Closed Doors: The Silent Echoes of Domestic Abuse

Poetry Image

In the stillness of the night, shadows loom,
Silent cries echo through the room.
A gentle whisper turned to thunderous roar,
Behind closed doors, a heart is sore.

Bruises hidden beneath the skin,
A battle fought, yet never to win.
Words like daggers pierce the soul,
In this dark place, love takes its toll.

Eyes that once shone with hope and light,
Now dimmed by fear, lost in the night.
A cage unseen, yet binds so tight,
The spirit yearns for freedom’s flight.

Yet in the quiet, a glimmer of strength,
A whispered promise to go the length.
For even in darkness, a dawn must rise,
To break the chains and touch the skies.
