When the Fire Fades and Hearts Grow Cold

Poetry Image

Once we soared high on wings of dreams,
In your eyes, I found my endless skies,
Yet now the light has dimmed, it seems,
Our love has drowned in silent goodbyes.

The whispers of affection lost,
Echo through the halls of yesteryear,
A heart now chilled, once tempest-tossed,
Embraces solitude, draws near.

We built a castle made of sand,
Tides of time have washed away,
No longer do we hand in hand,
Walk the paths of love, now gray.

Still, in the shadows of the past,
Memories linger, bittersweet,
A love that seemed too strong to last,
Falls apart, where once hearts beat.
