When Shadows Fall: A Tribute to My Father

Poetry Image

In the quiet of the night, when shadows softly fall,
I hear your whispered wisdom, a gentle, guiding call.
Though your chair is empty, and your voice I cannot find,
In my heart, you’re ever present, etched deep within my mind.

The days grow long and weary, the nights are dark and cold,
But memories of your laughter are treasures made of gold.
Your strength, your love, your courage, they live on in me still,
A beacon in the darkness, a light against my will.

Seasons change and time moves on, yet the pain remains the same,
A father’s love, forever lost, a sorrow with no name.
I reach for you in moments when life seems too much to bear,
And find solace in the silence, knowing you’re still there.

So here’s to you, dear father, though you’re no longer near,
Your legacy of love endures, in every smile and tear.
I carry you within me, in everything I do,
For though I’ve lost you, Dad, I’ve never lost the love, so true.
