When Mothers Turn Cold: A Tale of Neglect and Pain

Poetry Image

In the shadow of a mother’s smile,
Lies a heart that’s grown so wild.
Neglect and pain, her chosen path,
Leaving scars in her aftermath.

Her words, sharp as a dagger’s edge,
Cut deep, leaving a solemn pledge.
Promises of love, long forgotten,
In a home where warmth is rotten.

Nights of tears and silent cries,
Underneath unfeeling eyes.
A child’s hope, once bright and clear,
Now fades into a constant fear.

Yet in the darkness, strength is found,
A will to rise from the ground.
For even when a mother turns cold,
A spirit can still be bold.
