When Love Hurts More Than It Heals: A Reflection on Toxic Affection

Poetry Image

In shadows cast by whispered lies,
A heart once pure begins to fade.
Promises wrapped in deceitful ties,
A love that’s lost, a trust betrayed.

We danced on thorns, in silent screams,
Bound by chains unseen, unheard.
Echoes of dreams in shattered beams,
In a world where love’s absurd.

Eyes once bright now dim with pain,
Yet still we cling to love’s cruel game.
Hope drowned in a relentless rain,
Lost in the fire, consumed by flame.

Let go of this toxic embrace,
Find the strength to break away.
In the ashes, seek a safer place,
Where love is kind, and hearts can stay.
