The Weight of Words: Breaking the Chains of Shame

Poetry Image

In the mirror, reflections speak with a cruel, unkind voice,
A chorus of whispers, leaving no room for choice.
Skin deep judgments, tearing spirits apart,
A silent battle fought within the heart.

Each word a dagger, each glance a heavy weight,
Carving scars unseen, shaping an unforgiving fate.
They see only surface, a disguise of the soul,
Forgetting the beauty that makes us whole.

Yet within us lies strength, a fire deep inside,
To rise above the torment, with dignity and pride.
We are more than our bodies, more than meets the eye,
Worth measured by kindness, reaching for the sky.

So let us shatter these chains, break free from the shame,
Embrace our true selves, without fear or blame.
For every scar tells a story, every flaw a part,
Of the journey to self-love, the healing of the heart.
