The Silent Thief of Joy

Poetry Image

In the mirror’s gaze, I see
A heart that’s bound, not free
Chasing shadows in the night
Selfishness, my silent blight.

Dreams once shared, now fade away
As I grasp for more each day
Blind to those who stand and weep
Drowning in desires deep.

A hollow echo fills my soul
As I lose sight of the whole
My world grows small, a lonely sphere
Built on selfishness and fear.

Yet hope whispers in the wind
Urging me to turn within
To find the light, to heal and mend
And let selflessness transcend.
