The Silent Struggle: A Battle Within

Poetry Image

In the mirror, a distorted reflection lies,
A whispering shadow, feeding on cries.
The plate becomes a battlefield, silent yet grim,
Each bite a struggle, each meal a hymn.

Hunger gnaws, but fear prevails,
The mind a prison, where hope often fails.
Numbers dictate, a scale’s cruel reign,
Health and heart endure the strain.

Eyes full of sorrow, masked by a smile,
A soul in turmoil, mile after mile.
Friends and family, they see but a part,
The true war rages deep in the heart.

Yet in the shadows, a flicker of light,
Strength to fight, through the darkest night.
Recovery whispers, a gentle embrace,
Finding peace in self, a newfound grace.
