The Silent Streets of Yesterday

Poetry Image

In the stillness of the night, we heard the echo of fear,
Streets once bustling, now lie lonely and clear.
Faces masked, and hearts bound by invisible chains,
We yearn for the touch, the laughter, and the gains.

Days blend into nights, and months into years,
The world stands apart, yet together in tears.
We find solace in screens, and comfort in words,
As the silence is broken by the songs of the birds.

Hope flickers like a candle in the storm,
As we navigate this new, uncertain norm.
Dreams of tomorrow, of sunlight and cheer,
Keep us moving forward, despite the pervasive fear.

So, we carry on, with resilience in our stride,
Embracing the dawn, with the strength we can’t hide.
For in every shadow, there lies a spark,
And together we’ll emerge, from this long, dark arc.
