The Silent Cries of the Forgotten Souls

Poetry Image

In the shadows of the bustling streets,
Where dreams are crushed beneath the feet,
Silent cries of hunger and despair,
Echo through the cold night air.

Children with eyes devoid of light,
Wander through the endless night,
Hoping for a crumb, a drop,
A reason for their hearts to stop.

Mothers weep in silent pain,
Fathers’ dreams washed down the drain,
Hands that once built worlds anew,
Now tremble in the morning dew.

Yet within the darkest of these days,
A glimmer of hope still finds its ways,
Through acts of kindness, hearts so bold,
A story of poverty, yet untold.
