The Silent Chains of Drug Addiction

Poetry Image

In shadows deep, the chains do bind,
A soul once free, now lost, confined.
The whispers call, a siren’s plea,
To depths unknown, they pull and seize.

The mind once clear, now clouded veil,
A storm within, where hopes do pale.
The light fades out, the night is long,
The heart does cry, a mournful song.

The world outside, a distant dream,
In silent screams, the shadows teem.
The hands reach out, but find no grip,
In darkness deep, the spirit slips.

Yet in the night, a spark may rise,
In distant skies, where hope still flies.
With strength borrowed, from love’s embrace,
The chains may break, and light replace.
