The Silent Chains of Drug Abuse

Poetry Image

In the shadows where the whispers lay,
Lies the weight of sorrow, day by day.
A heart once bright, now dulled in pain,
Ensnared by the silent chains that strain.

Dreams dissolve in a haze so thick,
Time slips away with every tick.
The soul cries out in muted plea,
For a taste of life, for a chance to be free.

The needle’s prick, the pill’s embrace,
Leave scars unseen on a weary face.
A battle fought in every breath,
A dance so close to the edge of death.

But within the dark, a spark remains,
A hope that whispers through the chains.
For every heart that’s lost in the night,
There waits a dawn, a chance for light.
