The Silent Chains of Addiction: A Battle Within

Poetry Image

In the shadows of the night, where demons lie awake,
Lies a battle fought within, a soul it tries to break.
Silent whispers call, beckoning to sin,
The chains of addiction, wrapped so tight within.

Daylight brings no solace, the craving never ends,
A ceaseless hunger gnaws, as willpower bends.
Promises once made, now shattered on the floor,
The endless cycle spins, returning evermore.

Eyes once bright with hope, now dim with regret,
Memories of freedom, so easy to forget.
The grip of darkness tightens, as light fades away,
A prisoner of the mind, in a never-ending fray.

But within the heart, a spark of hope remains,
A longing for release, from these binding chains.
Courage whispers softly, “Fight another day,”
For even in the darkest night, there shines a distant ray.
