The Silent Chains of Addiction

Poetry Image

In the shadows of twilight, it whispers so sweet,
A siren’s call, a promise of retreat.
With every breath, it tightens its hold,
A story of sorrow, silently told.

Eyes once bright, now clouded with mist,
The allure of the abyss is hard to resist.
Each step forward feels like a fall,
In the grip of addiction, trapped by its thrall.

Nights grow longer, days turn to haze,
Lost in a labyrinth, a perpetual daze.
The heart yearns for freedom, a moment to break,
Yet the chains of desire are hard to forsake.

But within every soul lies a spark of light,
A glimmer of hope amidst the darkest night.
With strength and courage, one can find the way,
To shatter the silence and see a new day.
