The Silent Chains: A Reflection on the Shadows of Addiction

Poetry Image

In the whispers of the night,
A siren’s call to the lost,
Promises of fleeting delight,
But at what cost?

Shadows dance in broken dreams,
Where hope is a fragile thread,
Entangled in silent screams,
Where angels fear to tread.

The chains are hidden but strong,
Binding the heart and soul,
A melody of a mournful song,
That never makes one whole.

Yet beneath the weight of despair,
A glimmer of light remains,
A chance to breathe, to repair,
To break the silent chains.
