The Shadows That Speak, The Nightmares That Linger

Poetry Image

In the silent whispers of the night,
Fear creeps in with a shadowy flight.
It wraps around the heart so tight,
Dimming even the brightest light.

Eyes open wide, yet seeing naught,
In a web of dread, the soul is caught.
Every creak and groan, a haunting thought,
The mind in turmoil, a battle fought.

The cold wind sings a chilling song,
A dirge of fears that linger long.
In the dark, where things go wrong,
Courage falters, no longer strong.

But with the dawn, fear starts to fade,
Shadows retreat, no longer invade.
The heart beats steady, unafraid,
For light and hope have come to aid.
