The Shadows of Colonial Chains

Poetry Image

In the heart of Africa, a land so vast and free,
Came the shadows of colonial chains, a darkened sea.
Rich lands and vibrant cultures, once proud and tall,
Now whispered tales of sorrows, a silent call.

The rivers flowed with tears of ancestors’ cries,
As foreign hands plundered beneath the skies.
The drums of freedom beat in the distant night,
Fighting against the chains, for their sacred right.

The children sang songs of lands once their own,
In the fields of gold, where seeds were sown.
Hope lingered in the winds, a gentle breeze,
Whispering the promise of future peace.

As the sun sets on the colonial twilight,
The dawn of liberation brings forth the light.
Africa rises, with strength in her veins,
Breaking forever the colonial chains.
