The Shadows of Broken Trust

Poetry Image

In the stillness of the night I ponder,
The warmth that turned to cold surrender.
Promises whispered in the dark,
Now just ashes of a dying spark.

The laughter that once filled the air,
Replaced by silence and despair.
A friendship forged, now torn apart,
With betrayal’s knife deep in my heart.

Memories of trust now tainted,
Happy moments now all fainted.
Eyes that once shone with delight,
Now avoid my gaze, filled with fright.

In the mirror, reflections of lies,
Shattered dreams and muffled cries.
The shadows of broken trust remain,
Forever etched in the canvas of pain.
