The Shadows of Addiction: A Journey Through Substance Abuse

Poetry Image

In the shadows where the nightmares creep,
Lies a soul that once could dream and leap.
Bound by chains of a chemical spell,
Lost in a personal, private hell.

The nights are long, the days are blurred,
In a haze where hope is seldom heard.
Chasing highs that never last,
Haunted by echoes of the past.

Friends and family drift away,
In the silence, the heart starts to fray.
Searching for a semblance of peace,
In a cycle that will never cease.

But deep within, a spark remains,
Yearning to break free from these chains.
For even in the darkest night,
There’s a chance to find the light.
