The Shadows Lurk in Midnight’s Veil

Poetry Image

Beneath the silver moon’s soft glow,
Where shadows dance and mysteries grow,
Lurking monsters, unseen by day,
Emerge to haunt and lead astray.

In whispers carried by the breeze,
They rustle leaves in ancient trees,
Their eyes like embers, glowing bright,
They prowl the edges of the night.

With claws that scrape and fangs that gleam,
They invade the quiet of our dream,
Silhouettes in inky black,
They follow close, but don’t attack.

Yet in the dawn’s first golden ray,
These monsters slowly fade away,
But fear remains, a lasting trace,
Of night’s dark creatures, now effaced.
