The Mirror of Selfishness: A Tale of Isolation and Desires

Poetry Image

In the mirror, I see a face
With eyes that seek and hands that take
A heart encased in iron gates
Where love and kindness break

The world revolves around my needs
With every wish, a silent plea
For endless wants and endless greed
Beneath a mask of dignity

I walk alone, a path so cold
Where shadows whisper, secrets told
That selfishness, a heavy mold
Leaves me with nothing to behold

In this mirror, now I see
The emptiness inside of me
A heart that yearns to be set free
From chains of selfish vanity
