The Lingering Smoke: A Silent Killer of Dreams

Poetry Image

In the dim light of a silent night,
The ember glows, a lonely fight.
Whispers of smoke curl through the air,
A silent thief, with a deadly snare.

Dreams once vibrant, now turned to ash,
Inhaling sorrow, a hurried dash.
Shadows dance in the smoky haze,
Life’s bright flame begins to fade.

Each breath taken, a step to despair,
A fog of regret, too heavy to bear.
Heartbeats echo in a hollow chest,
Silent cries of a soul oppressed.

Yet hope lingers in the cold night,
A spark of will, a chance for light.
Break free from the smoky chains,
And breathe anew, life regained.
