The Illusion of Perfection: Chasing Beauty in a World of Standards

Poetry Image

In mirrors, we seek the truth untold,
A reflection of what we’re meant to hold.
Standards set by those unseen,
A beauty no one has truly gleaned.

Magazines and screens dictate our grace,
Altered images set the pace.
Chasing shadows, we lose our light,
In the quest for beauty, we lose our sight.

Beneath the surface, where true beauty lies,
In hearts and souls, in laughter’s cries.
Not in lines or shapes defined,
But in the kindness we leave behind.

Let go of the illusions that bind,
Embrace the uniqueness in humankind.
Beauty’s a whisper, not a scream,
Found in the heart, not in a dream.
