The Heavy Weight of Unseen Shadows

Poetry Image

In the silence of the night, whispers grow loud,
Shadows stretch long, beneath a guilty shroud.
The heart beats heavy, with secrets untold,
In the quiet corners, memories unfold.

Eyes that avoid the mirror’s cruel gaze,
Reflecting choices that blur in a haze.
The mind replays moments, seeking reprieve,
Yet finds only echoes, that refuse to leave.

Beneath the surface, a storm quietly brews,
Regretful waves crash, with each thought that cues.
A battle within, where peace seems so far,
And guilt is the wound, leaving its scar.

Yet in the dawn’s light, hope softly appears,
Promising healing, through penitent tears.
For though shadows linger, and guilt may bind,
Forgiveness whispers, to a weary mind.
