The Heavy Veil of Shame That Cloaks My Soul

Poetry Image

In the silent echoes of my heart’s domain,
Lies a shadow, a whisper of shame.
It clings to memories, it weaves through dreams,
A specter haunting, ripping at the seams.

The mirror reflects not just my face,
But the burdens, the scars, the trace.
Each fault, each flaw, a glaring mark,
In the silent, judging dark.

I walk through days with a lowered gaze,
Afraid of light, of open space.
For in the eyes of those who see,
Lies the fear of what they’ll think of me.

Yet within this cloak, a lesson lies,
That in our flaws, true strength can rise.
To shed this weight, to stand and claim,
The dawn that follows after shame.
