The Flight of Icarus: A Tale of Dreams and Hubris

Poetry Image

With wings of wax and feathered dreams, he soared,
Beyond the earthly bounds of mortal lore.
Icarus, bold, embraced the azure skies,
Unfazed by warnings of his father’s cries.

The sun, a beacon of his wildest hopes,
Beckoned him forth with radiant, golden ropes.
Higher and higher, through the clouds he flew,
His heart alight with visions vast and new.

But dreams can burn as fierce as they inspire,
And wings of wax succumb to solar fire.
Downward he plunged, his glory turned to grief,
The sea below cradled his brief belief.

In whispered waves, his tale’s immortalized,
A warning sung by winds, forever wise.
For those who dare to dream beyond the known,
Beware the sun, where hubris finds its throne.
