The Fall of Icarus: A Tale of Wings and Dreams

Poetry Image

In the cradle of the sky he soared,
With wings of wax and dreams untold.
The sun beckoned with a fiery call,
Yet hubris led to his fateful fall.

Higher he climbed, embracing the light,
Ignoring the warnings of the wise.
His heart ached for the heavens’ glow,
Blind to the perils that lay below.

The warmth grew fierce, the wax began to melt,
His dreams unraveled like a silken thread.
A cry echoed through the endless blue,
As down he tumbled, lost from view.

In the depths of the sea, his story lies,
A reminder of ambition’s price.
For those who seek the sunlit skies,
Beware the fall when you dare to rise.
