The Echoes of Friendship: A Lament

Poetry Image

In the quiet of the night, memories flood my mind,
Of laughter shared and secrets whispered, now left behind.
The silence is heavy, an echo of what we used to be,
A bond once strong, now a distant memory.

I walk down familiar paths, but they feel so strange,
Every corner a reminder of how things have changed.
The world moves on, but my heart remains still,
Grieving the loss that time cannot heal.

Your absence is a void, a shadow in the sun,
A constant reminder of what’s been undone.
I search for solace in the stories we wrote,
But the pages are empty, our friendship a ghost.

Though you’re gone, your spirit lingers near,
In every whispered wind, in every fallen tear.
I cherish the moments, though they bring me pain,
For in my heart, our friendship will always remain.
