Once stood tall, the mighty green,
A forest rich, where life was seen.
Birds sang sweet, and rivers flowed,
In the heart of nature, love bestowed.
But manâs greed came with axes sharp,
Trees fell down, the woods went dark.
Creatures fled, their homes destroyed,
In the name of progress, joys were void.
The soil now bare, the air turned grey,
Echoes of life faded away.
No more rustle, no more cheer,
Just silent woods that shed a tear.
Let us hear the woodsâ lament,
And strive to end this cruel torment.
For in their life, our future lies,
Protect the forests, let them rise.
