The Ashes of Despair: A Tale of Smoke and Shadows

Poetry Image

In the dim light of a midnight room,
A cigarette burns, a glowing plume,
Whispered secrets in the smoke,
Silent screams that never spoke.

A fragile ember, a fleeting spark,
Consumes the light, leaves only dark,
With every breath, a silent plea,
For freedom from this harsh decree.

The acrid scent, a bitter taste,
A fleeting moment, gone to waste,
In the haze, the world seems far,
A distant dream, a fading star.

Yet still we cling, to this demise,
Blind to the truth, the hidden lies,
In the ashes, hope is lost,
A heavy burden, a tragic cost.
