Striving in Shadows: The Never-Ending Quest for Acceptance

Poetry Image

In the quiet of the night, doubts quietly creep,
Whispers of inadequacy, secrets they keep,
Shadows of others loom, casting me small,
Climbing a ladder, fearing to fall.

Each effort, each try, feels woefully shy,
Beneath a sky of expectations, I silently cry,
My heart beats heavy with dreams unachieved,
A canvas of potential, but never believed.

The mirror reflects a face, worn and weary,
Eyes searching for worth, the vision is teary,
I yearn to be enough, in a world so demanding,
A soul forever reaching, never landing.

Yet in these depths, a flicker of light,
A whisper of hope, to continue the fight,
For in the journey, we find our own way,
To be enough, in our own unique way.
