Shattered Bonds Beyond Repair

Poetry Image

Once we walked through fields of dreams,
Laughter echoed, hearts agleam,
But now those days are lost it seems,
In shadowed nights and silent screams.

Trust that held us close and near,
Is broken now, replaced by fear,
Words once kind, now harsh and sheer,
Our friendship’s end is painfully clear.

Memories of joy now bring sorrow,
Wounds so deep, hard to swallow,
The hope for mending seems too hollow,
We part ways, seeking new tomorrows.

Though paths diverge, and hearts do ache,
Lessons learned from each mistake,
In time, perhaps, new bonds we’ll make,
But this old friendship must forsake.
