Shadows of Perception: The Battle Against Body Shaming

Poetry Image

In the mirror’s cold reflection, a tale unfolds,
Of whispers and judgments, of stories untold.
The eyes of society, sharp and unkind,
Leave scars on the soul, on the heart and the mind.

They speak of perfection, of standards so high,
Ignoring the beauty of each unique sigh.
For bodies are vessels, diverse and rare,
Each one a masterpiece, beyond compare.

The words that they utter, so careless and vain,
Weigh heavy on shoulders, inflicting deep pain.
Yet strength can be found in accepting the truth,
That beauty transcends the judgments of youth.

Rise above whispers, let confidence bloom,
Embrace who you are, dispel the gloom.
For in self-love’s light, we find our true grace,
Defying the shadows, reclaiming our space.
