Shadows of Illusion: A Poem on Drug Awareness

Poetry Image

In the alleyways where dreams once bloomed,
Shadows of illusion now loom.
Whispers of escape in a world so vast,
A fleeting high that will never last.

Empty promises in a needle’s bite,
A temporary flight into the night.
But morning comes with a heavy toll,
A shattered mind and a broken soul.

Friends and family fade to gray,
As darkness takes their light away.
The chains of addiction tightly bind,
Leaving only regret behind.

Seek the light, the path that’s true,
There’s strength within, inside of you.
Break the cycle, make a stand,
Hold on tight to a loving hand.
