Shadows in the Crowd: A Silent Struggle with Social Anxiety

Poetry Image

In the bustling crowd, I stand alone,
A silent whisper in an ocean’s roar,
Faces blur, conversations drone,
My heart pounds, my spirit sore.

Eyes meet mine, I quickly glance away,
Afraid of judgement, fearing disdain,
Words I wish to speak, silently prey,
On my tongue, they stay, bound by chain.

Every step a mountain, every breath a storm,
Courage falters, shadows loom tall,
In my mind, a battle, fierce and warm,
Yet outwardly, I appear so small.

Longing for connection, yet paralyzed by fear,
In this crowded room, I remain unseen,
A solitary tear marks my path so clear,
In the silent struggle, I quietly convene.
