Shackles of Love, Chains of Pain: A Journey Through a Toxic Relationship

Poetry Image

In the beginning, your eyes were the stars,
Guiding me through the darkest nights.
Your touch was the whisper of the wind,
Soft, gentle, a promise of forever.

But soon, shadows crept into our paradise,
Words turned sharp, cutting deep.
Love became a battlefield,
Each kiss a wound, each hug a trap.

I tried to hold on, thinking it was fate,
That the storm would pass, and peace would reign.
But the rain never ceased, only grew,
Drowning the love we once cherished.

Now I stand, a survivor of the storm,
Broken yet whole, scarred yet strong.
Free from the shackles, from the chains,
Ready to love, to live once more.
