Reflections on the Passing of Edna St. Vincent Millay

Poetry Image

In the quiet whisper of autumn’s breeze,
Your words linger, a soft melody,
A symphony of verses, tender and wise,
We mourn the loss of your poetic legacy.

Under the moon’s gentle, silvery glow,
Your spirit roams, free from earthly chains,
Among the stars, where dreams and wishes flow,
Your voice remains in our hearts’ refrains.

The world feels colder, though you are gone,
Your flame, extinguished, yet still it burns,
Through every line, of every song,
Your essence, to us, forever returns.

Rest now, dear poet, in eternal peace,
Your journey’s end, a new beginning,
In the timeless realm where all sorrows cease,
Your legacy, in our souls, keeps singing.
