Reflections on Mortality: A Shakespearean Sonnet About Death

Poetry Image

When silent shadows drape the weary earth,
And stars alight the mournful sky’s expanse,
We ponder life, the fleeting breath from birth,
In death’s embrace, all hearts must learn to dance.
The ticking clock, a gentle reaper’s call,
Reminds us of the beauty bound by time,
As autumn leaves in graceful patterns fall,
We find in endings a reason to rhyme.
Though darkness looms, its depth we shall explore,
In whispered winds, hear echoes of the past,
In death, we find a peace forevermore,
A silent calm, a stillness meant to last.
So let us live with passion, bold and true,
For in death’s shadow, life finds meaning new.
