Reflections on Life’s Final Curtain: A Shakespearean Sonnet on the Inevitability of Death

Poetry Image

When shadows fall upon the fleeting day,
And time doth cease its ever-constant flight,
The night descends, where silent spirits stray,
In death’s embrace, we bid the world goodnight.

The echoes of our lives in whispers fade,
As gentle breezes carry dreams away,
The soul departs, its earthly debts now paid,
In quiet rest, where none can go astray.

Yet in the heart of those who linger here,
Fond memories like stars shall brightly gleam,
Though death may come, love’s bond will persevere,
In dreams eternal, we shall ever dream.

So let us live with grace and tender care,
For in our hearts, the ones we love remain,
Though death may part, in memory we share,
A legacy of love, defying pain.
