Reflections of Beauty’s Mirror

Poetry Image

In the glass, we see a face, so often not our own,
A visage shaped by thoughts, by standards overblown.
The world has set a measure, a scale we strive to meet,
Yet true beauty lies within, beyond the skin, so sweet.

They tell us what is perfect, what form we must embrace,
But every soul is different, each with its unique grace.
The magazines, the screens, they paint a narrow view,
But beauty’s in the heart, in everything we do.

To chase an ideal image, we lose what makes us rare,
Forgetting that our worth is more than just our hair.
It’s in the love we offer, the kindness that we show,
The courage to be genuine, to let our true selves glow.

So let us break the mirrors, those lies they often tell,
Embrace the varied beauty that in our hearts does dwell.
For every scar and wrinkle, every shade and hue,
Is part of what makes each of us profoundly, deeply true.
