Persephone’s Descent: A Dance of Light and Shadow

Poetry Image

In fields of gold she wandered free,
A maiden pure with heart of glee.
Her laughter echoed through the air,
Till shadows whispered in her hair.

The earth beneath began to quake,
As Hades’ chariot did awake.
With gentle grasp yet firm embrace,
He led her to his darkened place.

In realms below, where shadows reign,
She found a love amidst the pain.
Though tears did fall like autumn leaves,
She wore a crown of pomegranate seeds.

Seasons changed, the world did mourn,
Yet from the dark, new life was born.
Persephone, both queen and child,
A goddess fierce, both soft and wild.
