My Rights: A Journey of Empowerment

Poetry Image

In the shadow of oppression’s might,
A voice emerged to claim her right,
June Jordan, a beacon bright,
Her words ignited freedom’s light.

With pen in hand, she wrote her tale,
Of struggles faced, and dreams unveiled,
Her verses soared where chains would fail,
Injustice quaked, her spirit hailed.

She spoke of love, of pain, of fight,
Her prose a testament to plight,
Each stanza birthed in darkest night,
Yet shone with truth, so clear, so right.

My rights, she penned, are not for sale,
No force can make her spirit pale,
June Jordan’s legacy prevails,
Her words, a ship with freedom’s sail.
