Masks: The Shadows We Wear, The Faces We Hide, The Truths We Fear, The Lies We Tell

Poetry Image

Beneath the silken veil, our hearts do lie,
Concealed from prying eyes, a secret sigh.
We wear these masks to hide our deepest pain,
In shadows cast, the truth we can’t maintain.

Each painted smile, a fortress built so high,
Protects the soul from tears it dares not cry.
Through laughter’s echo, sorrow’s silent scream,
The mask remains, a guardian of the dream.

Beneath the guise, our souls in whispers speak,
Of longing, love, and fears we dare not seek.
The mask, a mirror to the world outside,
Reflects our fears, the truths we strive to hide.

And yet, in twilight’s glow, the mask will fade,
Revealing scars from battles we have made.
In honesty’s embrace, we find our way,
To live unmasked, in light of a new day.
