Innocence in the Eyes of Time

Poetry Image

In the cradle of dawn’s first light,
Lies a world untouched by plight.
Eyes wide open to the blooming earth,
A soul unburdened since its birth.

Gentle whispers of the morning breeze,
Caressing cheeks with tender ease.
Footsteps soft on meadows green,
Where innocence in every scene.

Dreams untainted by the years,
Unfamiliar with life’s many fears.
Heartbeats pure, a melody sweet,
In innocence, the world they greet.

But time, a river ever flowing,
Takes with it the unknowing.
Yet in the heart remains a trace,
Of innocence, a fleeting grace.
