In the Whisper of Forgotten Days

Poetry Image

Within the fog of yesteryears, I wander lost and frail,
Memories like fleeting shadows, on a path where moments pale.
Once vivid tales now slip away, like sand through fingers tight,
In the whisper of forgotten days, I search for morning light.

Faces blur and names dissolve, in the echoes of my mind,
A labyrinth of fading thoughts, where clarity’s hard to find.
Once familiar, now unknown, the world a shifting haze,
As I grasp at fragments of a past, in dementia’s cruel maze.

The laughter fades to distant hums, a silent symphony,
Reminders of what once was bright, now drift like autumn leaves.
Each day a battle to recall, the essence of my being,
In this relentless tide of loss, where time is ever fleeing.

Yet in the shadows, love remains, a beacon in the night,
Guiding me through darkest hours, with its enduring light.
Though memories may disappear, the heart forever knows,
That love transcends the fog of time, and in the soul it grows.
