Growing Up Too Fast: The Journey Beyond Childhood Dreams

Poetry Image

In the blink of an eye, the days slip away,
Childhood whispers fade, like shadows in the fray.
Innocence traded for wisdom’s heavy cloak,
Laughter turns to echoes, memories evoke.

Where once we danced in fields of endless light,
Now we chase the hours, through the endless night.
Dreams of youth, now tethered to the past,
Time’s relentless march, moving ever fast.

The world demands, we grow and we change,
Leaving behind, the familiar and strange.
Responsibilities weigh on shoulders broad,
As we strive for futures, through paths we trod.

Yet in quiet moments, when the stars align,
We find the child, in memories that shine.
For though we age, and seasons swiftly pass,
The heart within, forever holds the past.
